Pastoral care is an ancient model of emotional and spiritual support that can be found in all cultures and traditions.
Jaki Fisher recently graduated from a two year Buddhist pastoral care program in the U.S and just finished a 10 week placement at a large hospital in Melbourne, providing pastoral care to people from all faiths as they faced various life challenges.
She would like to offer pastoral care to the ASC community to provide a space for people to share their concerns and find their own way through whatever is going on for them.
Pastoral care shares some similarities with counselling but it is more focused on listening and finding meaning rather than on solving a particular problem.
The sessions will be twice a month on Saturday afternoon from 4-4.45pm and 4.50-5.20pm and the cost will be $10 for 45 minutes. To make an appointment, please email Jaki at email@example.com
Please join us for a symbolic burning up of the mental afflictions that have troubled us this year as well as some of our unskillful actions so far. Jaki will start with an explanation of the ceremony and then we can all join in to conduct it.
