#20 Nov 2013 – Season of Giving and Gratitude

Yesterday – Thursday 28 November – it was the first time in 100 years that Hanukkah (Jewish festival of light) and Thanksgiving have been celebrated on the same day.  It is heartening to think that such a large number of people will be sitting down in homes around the world and being grateful – for friends, for family and for the food they are eating.  As we head into December, many more people around the world will be planning to spend some time with family and friends in a similar way.

ACI is no different, next week Lama Marut and Cindy Lee have found some time out of their busy schedules to travel to Singapore and give a number of talks.  We are enormously grateful that they continue to come and we hope that you – friends of ACI over the years – will be able to come along and show your support.

Meditation, Yoga and all on-going local classes will be suspended just for December. Thank you to all our volunteer teachers that spend their personal time putting together such great lessons, in meditation, on classic texts and in Yoga.

Classes will restart in January and specific details are in the rest of the newsletter and on our website. For those particularly interested in receiving weekly email updates about the Friday Meditation then please email info@aci-sg.org to be added to the list.

ACI would like to thank you for all your support, your ideas and for your feedback on what we do. Please continue to do so and we wish you all a very happy festive season.

ACI Team

A Final Thought

“To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go.  Your prayer knows much more about it than you do.”
~ Victor Hugo (French poet, novelist)
