Watching your world unfold

Hello !

My kids already have enough ‘stuff’ so when I travel, I prefer to write them a story instead. After writing this short story, I realised what a metaphor it was for my own life, and how some of the innate wisdom contained in it, was gleaned from my ACI classes.

The story centres on a very angry lion who roars at anything that ventures into his patch. Only when he sits down to lick his paws and contemplate ‘MY land, MY lake and MY tree’ does he realize how truly empty and lonely he feels. The next morning when he wakes up, rather than following his instincts and lashing out, he takes stock and changes his response by making friends with all the animals around him.

As he learns to curb his natural instincts, he finds himself more connected to himself and others – and for the first time, truly happy.

It’s a children’s story but one that I’d do well to remind myself of more often 🙂
