NEW! Dharma Essentials: The Three Principal Paths, with Alvin Lee

Dharma Essentials 1

Join us for this new course, offered for the first time at ASC! Dharma Essentials Courses consist of four classes and assume no previous background in Buddhism. Each class is based on a few pages of reading from the original texts (often translated from the Tibetan for the first time). Each class also comes with a fifteen minute per day meditation assignment related to the material covered in that class and designed to help your practice and improve your life. “Dharma Essentials” – everything you need to know to begin, renew, or enhance your spiritual life!

This Course is an excellent overview of the entire Buddhist path; it is based upon The Three Principal Paths (Lamtso Namsum) by Je Tsongkapa (1357-1419), with the commentary of Pabongka Rinpoche (1878-1941). Topics include: what is a qualified teacher, what are Buddha nature and authentic Dharma, samsara and renunciation, the principles of karma, bodhichitta and its benefits, correct view of emptiness, and the relationship between karma and emptiness.

Dates: 10th, 17th, 24th April & 8th May (please note no class on 1st May)

Time: Mondays 7.30-9pm

Venue: 51b Temple Street Singapore 058596

Cost: $15/class (drop-in), $50 for all 4 classes (paid upfront)
