MAY 26-30! Retreat on the “Five Freedoms: The Mandala of Wisdom” with Lama Marut and Cindy Lee

About the Retreat

This retreat will guide us toward a deeper connection with our own awakened nature, and will provide us with techniques and practices to help work with the obstacles that obscure our natural wisdom, peace and joy.

During the retreat, we will be working with the framework and the mandala of the five Dhyani or Wisdom Buddhas. Each Buddha embodies a different aspect of freedom and the awakened mind, and offers wisdom that can help us work with our habitual patterns of anger, jealousy, pride, ignorance and grasping. It is said that each of us has a predisposition to one of these five Buddhas qualities and that studying these characteristics can help us reach our highest potential.

Join us for another transformational retreat with Lama Marut and Cindy Lee on peaceful Bintan Island. Retreat schedule will include daily dharma talks, kirtan, yoga and meditation as well as creative activities and plenty of personal time for relaxation and reflection.

101910_1838
These classes will provide a review of Lama Marut’s past retreats on the text Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life (Chapters 1 to 7). The classes will be led by Alvin Lee and Chuck Grimm.
During the classes, there will be a quick recap of the teachings covered during the 2013 & 2014 retreats on Bintan island. Participants of these retreats will be most welcome to contribute their own learning insights.
Those who participated in only one of the two retreats: these classes are highly recommended to either get a quick refresher or mini introduction to the famous text by Master Shantideva. For those who are thinking about joining the 2015 retreat but have never attended a previous one, please consider coming to get a sense of what it is going to be like this year, and to learn about the background and first half of the text before the retreat.
All are welcome.  If you are completely new to this text, please try to attend 2nd March class before 16th March.
When: March 2nd and 16th (amended), 7.30 – 9pm
Where: 51B Temple Street (top floor), Chinatown.
For more information and registration, please write to info@asc-sg.org.
